AATG-WA Award Winners
2020:
Chris Barnes, of Pomeroy, Washington, retired from United Parcel Service, will receive the Friend of German Award, which recognizes exemplary leadership in the advocacy of German and German language education.
The AATG/Goethe‐Institut Outstanding GAPP Coordinator Award, which honors a teacher who provides opportunities for students to study abroad through the German American Partnership Program, will be presented to Rick Beck, West Valley High School, Yakima, Washington.
Recognized with the Goethe‐Institut/AATG Certificate of Merit for their achievements in furthering the teaching of German: Shannon Dubenion‐Smith, Associate Professor German and Linguistics and Chair of Modern and Classical Languages at Western Washington University, Bellingham, Washington.
